Delete your account

You can delete your Treehouse account from inside the app, whenever you want. Here is how, and exactly what happens next.

In the app

  1. Open Treehouse and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  2. Go to your Profile and tap the ••• button at the top right.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  5. Enter your password, tap Delete my account, and confirm.

You are signed out straight away, on every device.

You have 30 days to change your mind

Your account disappears from Treehouse as soon as you delete it, and is erased 30 days later. Sign in any time before then and it comes back untouched — signing in cancels the deletion. After that, it cannot be undone.

What is erased, and what stays

Erased: your profile, your posts and the photos in them, your likes, and who you follow and who follows you.

Stays, without your name: comments you left on other people’s posts, and messages you sent in conversations. They are part of conversations other people took part in, so removing them would rewrite those conversations. Your name and profile are removed from them.

Handed on: a group you created is passed to one of its remaining admins or members rather than deleted, so the people in it do not lose it.

Records of moderation decisions are kept, as the privacy policy explains.

Just want a break?

Deactivate instead. In Settings, under Account, tap Deactivate account. You disappear from Treehouse and nothing is deleted — sign in whenever you want and it all comes back.

Can’t use the app?

If you no longer have the app, or you signed up with Google or Apple and have no password to enter, email support@thetreehouse.me from the address your account uses and ask us to delete it.
